Tech Desk. China is already in a tizzy over the Atal tunnel built at the strategic location of Himachal Pradesh. A statement was made from China that India would not benefit from this tunnel. The same India has now announced to offer Hitech 4G connectivity in the Atal tunnel. This step of India is enough to increase China’s fury. The Atal Tunnel is the longest highway tunnel in the world, which PM Modi has inaugurated recently. This tunnel will reduce the distance between Manali to Leh by 46 km, which can prove to be very helpful during the war.
4G connectivity in Atal tunnel
BSNL is responsible for providing 4G connectivity in Atal Tunnel. Himachal Pradesh Telecom Company has installed three 4G base transceiver stations to provide 4G connectivity to the customers in the tunnel. Prior to the inauguration of the tunnel, BSNL Himachal Pradesh had stated in a tweeter post that three 4G BTSs have been installed in the tunnel at zero degree temperature by the telecom company day and night. It has been made available by BSNL at 13,051 feet.
PM Modi inaugurated Atal Tunnel
A 4G upgrade program has been started by BSNL in the Atal Tunnel area of Himachal. In such a situation, BSNL users with 2G and 3G connectivity will be able to convert their SIM to 4G. There will be no charge for this. People of Himachal Pradesh will be able to take advantage of this scheme. Apart from Himachal, BSNL is converting 3G spectrum to 4G in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Kolkata on behalf of BSNL. Inauguration has been done. The length of this tunnel is 9.02 km. It is built under the Rohtang Pass. It is located on the Leh-Manali highway in Himachal Pradesh.
