Tech Desk. According to data from Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Reliance Jio has become the top telecom company with 35.33 per cent market share in Delhi Circle. By the end of June, over 1 crore 83 lakh subscribers were connected to Reliance Jio’s network in Delhi Circle. Gurugram and Faridabad in Haryana and Gautam Budh Nagar in Uttar Pradesh and Ghaziabad districts of Delhi, including the capital Delhi, fall under Delhi Circle.
Jio adds 9.03 lakh new customers in 6 months
Reliance Jio had achieved the number one position in Delhi Circle by leaving Vodafone-Idea behind at the beginning of the year. In the first 6 months of the year from January to June, Reliance Jio has strengthened its position by adding about 9.03 lakh subscribers. Reliance Jio has about 20 lakh customers more than Vodafone-Idea, which occupies the number two position in Delhi Circle. In the race for customer numbers, Bharti Airtel lags behind at number three. She is trailing 33 lakh 40 thousand from Reliance Jio and about 13.70 lakh customers from Vodafone Idea.
Vodafone-Idea has the most damage
In the first 6 months of the year 2020 i.e. during the months of January to June, more than 18 lakh 8 thousand mobile phone customers of Vodafone-Idea and Airtel in Delhi circle discontinued their SIMs. Vodafone-Idea, once the number one in Delhi circle, suffered the biggest blow. According to the latest data released by TRAI, over 12 lakh 84 thousand customers have slipped from the hands of Vodafone-Idea in the first 6 months of the year. At the same time, about 5 lakh 24 thousand users were lost from Airtel’s network.
Airtel and Vodafone-Idea also got a shock in June
Vodafone-Idea and Airtel have also suffered losses in the month of June. In the matter of adding new users, Reliance Jio has once again won the game. About 56 thousand new customers are added to its network in the month of June. At the same time, about 2 lakh users from Vodafone-Idea and 1 lakh 21 thousand users from Airtel broke their ties.
