Government company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is expanding its 4G network. Now the company has started 4G availability in Madurai in Tamil Nadu. Now BSNL’s 4G service has been expanded to 4 circles in Tamil Nadu. This includes Coimbatore, Salem, Tirucchi and Madurai. Data speeds up to 12 Mbps are being provided in these cities. BSNL has a big problem in the matter that it is looking to expand its 4G coverage but it does not have 4G license. However, the Principal General Manager of Madurai of BSNL has provided a solution for this.
BSNL may use 139 base towers for 4G service in Madurai : GM SE Rajam of Madurai said that BSNL should discontinue its 3G mobile service and provide 4G service again. That is, the company will provide its 4G service through 139 base towers. People who are using 3G service will not get the benefit of data services until they upgrade to 4G SIM. Out of 823 BTS, 139 BTS will be used for 4G service. The rest of the BTS will be used for 2G networks.
The company said to users to upgrade to 4G SIM: The company has said that users who do not upgrade to 4G SIM will not be able to use high-speed data. The company’s GM has said that BSNL has reached out to its users to change the SIM through SMS, IVRS calls and manual calls. He told that he will be able to change the SIM without any extra charge. Currently, 82,000 users in Madurai are using 2G service. Let us tell you that users outside Madurai will have to pay 100 rupees for SIM upgrade.
