From October 1, the government is going to impose a custom duty of 5% on the import of open sale of TV. The impact of this increase in custom duty will be seen on the cost of television companies and after that companies will increase their TV prices. Explain that the government has taken this decision to promote local manufacturing.
Know how expensive TV will be
After the 5% increase in the rate of custom duty, the price of 32 inch TV will increase by Rs 600. While the price of 42 inch TV can increase from 1200 to 1500 rupees. With the increase in custom duty of 5 per cent, the total cost of TV can increase by about 4 per cent.
Concession will be given in import duty
Government is increasing the custom duty on TV’s open sale by 5 per cent. So that local manufacturing can be promoted. But many countries including Korea are giving concession in import duty to manufacture in India. After which the popular company Samsung is preparing to start its business in India including from Vietnam. After this decision of the government to encourage local manufacturing, it is expected that the dominance of Chinese companies in India will be reduced.
