A Chinese soldier has been arrested from near the border here amidst border tension between India and China in Ladakh . News agency ANI said on Monday that security forces have arrested a Chinese soldier near the border in Ladakh. This soldier has been caught in Chumar-Demchok area. The agency quoted sources as saying that Chinese soldiers may have inadvertently entered the Indian border. Sources also said that he will be returned to the Chinese Army “after taking necessary action under the protocol”. According to reports, civil and military documents have been found from this soldier of the People’s Liberation Army of China.
A press release has been issued by the Indian Army that the name of the captured Chinese soldier is Wang or Long. And he has been caught near Demchok in eastern Ladakh on Monday, 19 October. This soldier wandered across the Line of Actual Control and entered the Indian border. The army has told that to protect the jawan from cold weather, along with medical help, food and hot clothes were given.
The army said that a request has come from the Chinese Army regarding its missing soldier. Under the protocol, the Chinese soldier will be handed back to China after completing all the formalities at the Chushul Moldo meeting point.

Please tell that tension has been going on between Indian and Chinese soldiers since the month of May along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh. In the month of June, there was a violent clash between the two sides in Galvan Valley here, in which 20 Indian soldiers lost their lives. Last month too, air shots were fired more than once between the two sides in Pangong Tso.
There have been several phases of military and diplomatic talks between the two countries to ameliorate tensions on the border, but China has refused to walk under the agreement to restore the status quo.
