Aligarh doctor Azim Malik, who questioned the FSL report in connection with the alleged gang rape, vandalism and murder of a Dalit girl in Hathras , Uttar Pradesh, last month, has been fired from the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College job. Dr. Malik was posted as Medical Officer at Emergency and Trauma Center in that hospital. The MLC report of the Hathras victim was also created by their team. Apart from Dr. Malik, his team colleague Dr. Obed Haq has also been dismissed from the post. Dr. Haque signed the medical legal case report of the victim.
The UP Police had said on the basis of the victim’s FSL report that there was no rape with the victim. On this, Dr. Malik said that the sample of FSL was taken 11 days after the rape, while according to the government guidelines, the rape can be confirmed in the sample itself within 96 hours of the rape. On Tuesday, Dr. Shah Zaidi, CMO of JNMCH, wrote a letter to him and informed him of his removal with immediate effect.
