Former Australian captain Steve Smith said- ready to prove world number-1

Former Australia captain Steve Smith said that he is ready for the Test series against Team India. Smith is the No. 1 batsman in the ICC Test rankings. He said that he will prove it by his performance against Team India. Smith, captain of IPL team Rajasthan Royals, admitted that he did not do well in the league this year.

He said- I was not in good form, but a lot of changes have taken place in a few weeks. I have prepared for the series against India. I am excited about the series. I was not able to play the ball well until a few days ago. But I worked hard on the net. Now the ball is coming on the bat. Now my timing is also correct.

Ready to play short ball

He said that he is fully ready to play shot balls too. Smith is believed to have trouble with shot balls. In the last season against New Zealand, he was dismissed by Neil Wagner four times on the short ball.

Indian bowler unable to bowl short ball like Wagner

Smith said – Indian fast bowlers cannot bowl short balls like Wagner. In such a situation, he will not have any problem in playing. He has been facing short balls for many years. In such a situation, he is no longer afraid of short balls. It is not easy to bounce like Neil Wagner. They are different. He balls between the shoulder and the rib. At the same time, they keep changing the speed evenly. In such a situation, it is not easy for any batsman to play them.

He added, “A lot of players can hit six wherever they want, but I am not that kind of batsman.”
