Nivar Cyclone Updates: Hurricane prevention activated in Bay of Bengal is hitting the coast of Tamil Nadu today. Cyclone NIVAR, located on the southwest Bay of Bay of Bengal, can turn into a severe cyclonic storm during the next 12 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, a storm may hit 145-150 km per hour before 5.30 pm, but if it is delayed, the storm will weaken and people will get relief. Currently, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry are raining before the storm. Heavy rains in Chennai have resulted in heavy waterlogging.
A total of 129 relief camps have been set up in Chennai. At the same time, 312 people have already taken shelter in 8 relief centers. Rain has started in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry since yesterday, warning has been issued to the people. This storm will hit the coast between Mamallapuram and Carakal anytime before 5.30 pm today. According to the message that the satellites are getting before the arrival of the storm, the speed of the winds will remain above 100 km, it can go up to about 150 kilometers per hour.

If this storm has taken a terrible form, it is feared that it may affect coastal Andhra Pradesh, southern interior of Karnataka and southern areas of Odisha.
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain may occur at many places in south coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on Wednesday or Thursday. Cyclone Prevention may cross the shores of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry between Karaikal and Mamallapuram on Wednesday evening. The rains are going on in Tamil Nadu since Monday. During the arrival of the storm, strong winds can also run at a speed of about 130 km per hour along with strong rains.
Following the meteorological department’s alert, Southern Railway has announced the cancellation of many trains and flights. Railway tweeted and informed that due to cyclonic storm some trains are being completely canceled while some trains are being partially canceled. The entire amount of the ticket for a fully canceled train will be refunded as per rules.

Prevention will be the fourth hurricane to affect North Indian Ocean region this year. The region previously consisted of 13 countries, later Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Yemen were also added.
