Smartphones have been the most popular among Indians in this festive season. In the cell of e-commerce sites that came between the Corona period and the lockdown, most people have bought more phones than clothes and other products. Smartphones captured 47 percent of the total festive sale over a 7-day period (October 15-21) due to affordable prices and newly launched models. According to Bangalore-based market research firm Redseer, in the first week of Festive Sale, smartphones worth Rs 1.5 crore were sold every minute on online platforms.
Mrigank Gutagutia, director of Redseer Consulting, said, “In many aspects, this is truly a festival of firsts for Indian e-commerce which will lay a strong foundation for its future.”
Like last year, the fashion category did not have a major contribution in sales this time, its sales remained at 14 percent. The report said, ‘Results in categories with home and home furnishings were good. In this, there was more demand for basic things for work from home and study from home.

Talking about the phone, the smartphone brand Mi India said last week that it sold 50 lakh handsets in the 7-day festival sale on Amazon, Flipkart and Mi.com platforms. At the same time, Chinese smartphone brand Poco sold more than 1 million smartphones on Flipkart in the same period. Flipkart had earlier said that the platform has registered double the number of subscribers in the mobile category. The premium segment of the smartphone saw growth of 3.2 times, which mainly included phones from Apple, Google and Saigsung.
