Karan Johar has said many times that Twinkle Khanna was his first love. Karan and Twinkle studied from the same school. He has loved Twinkle ever since and is his best friend. Karan wrote the character of Tina Malhotra for Twinkle Khanna itself. Twinkle’s nickname is Tina. Twinkle agreed to do it as well, but after 11 days of shooting she left the film.

After Twinkle Khanna left the film, Karan Johar started looking for his Tina among other actresses. After this, he then offered this role to Raveena Tandon, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Tabu, Urmila and Karishma Kapoor as well. But regret did not come with anyone.
