Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan (Shivraj Singh Chauhan) started his two-hour silence fast at 10 am on Monday. Her silent fast is in protest against former Chief Minister Kamal Nath’s derogatory remarks against the state’s women minister Imarti Devi .
State Congress President Kamal Nath had called Imrati Devi as an item in Dabra’s election public meeting. Imrati Devi is among 21 MLAs who left the Congress in March along with Jyotiraditya Scindia and joined the BJP. This led to the fall of the Kamal Nath government.
Kamal Nath had said, along with item Shivraj, state BJP president Narottam Mishra, other party leaders and ministers were also present in Bhopal. While Jyotiraditya Scindia and some other BJP leaders kept a two-hour fast in Indore. Kamal Nath said in the public meeting, “What is that … Why should I name him .. You should have alerted me … What is the ‘item'”. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has expressed strong objection on this. As a protest, on Monday, it was decided to keep a silent fast for two hours. The BJP leader says that Kamal Nath’s statement reflects his feudal mindset.
Had I been a Dalit-poor, Gunah Imrati Devi filed her nomination as a BJP candidate for the by-election from Dabra assembly constituency on Thursday. Imrati Devi is a supporter of Jyotiraditya Scindia. By-elections are to be held on November 3 for 28 assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh. Imarti Devi also said in conversation with NDTV that if she is born in a poor family, then what is her fault in this, is it a crime to be a Dalit. He also requested Sonia Gandhi to expel those making such statements from the party.
Mayawati demanded apology from Congress, BSP chief Mayawati has also asked Congress to apologize for this statement. He said that the former Chief Minister’s statement against women and Dalits is shameful and highly condemnable. The Congress high command should apologize in this matter.
