This year Shoyeb Aftab has topped the NEET exam 2020 by bringing 720 out of 720 marks. This is the first time in the history of NEET exam, when a candidate has brought the entire marks. NDTV has talked to Shoaib Aftab.
Shoaib said, this is the first time a candidate has scored 720 out of 720. Earlier last year, Nalin Khandelwal, who hails from Rajasthan, scored the highest points. He scored 701 out of a total of 720 marks.
Shoaib wants to become a cardiac surgeon in the future. Shoaib Aftab gave credit to his parents for the success and said that he did not expect to get the first rank in the medical entrance exam.
He said, “I would like to give all the credit to my mother who inspired me to aspire to become a doctor and stood by me”. Please tell that Shoaib’s father is a construction business and mother is a housewife. Shoaib took his NEAT coaching from Kota’s Allen Career Institute. Mother and sister lived with him. In the Coronavirus lockdown, he prepared instead of going back home, staying in Kota.
There was no doctor in Shoaib’s family, so he did not expect that the first rank would come. He decided not to go home in lockdown. Kota came for preparation in April 2018, after which he has not gone home yet.
His father Rourkela lives in Orissa, he promised his father that he would not come home until Neet cleared.
Shoaib tried to score as much as possible in the exam. Shoaib said, Neet’s exam was postponed several times in the Corona crisis, during which there was a lot of pressure on the exam, but even then Shoaib worked peacefully.
