Ever since the trailer launch of the Amazon original film ‘Chalang’, its comic plot and catchy on-screen duo Rajkumar Rao and Nusrat Bharucha have been in full swing. The film is based on the background of a small town in North India and revolves around the entertaining life of a PT teacher played by Rajkumar Rao. Recently, lead actor Nusrat spoke about his friendship with Rajkumar and how Rajkumar taught him how to speak ghoulish Haryanvi.
Nusrat said, “At one time it was very difficult for me to delve into Haryanvi culture and language, but Rajkumar Rao helped me in this. Raj was very comfortable with Haryanvi, but it was completely different for me and I had to learn from him. I enjoyed learning the new language and I also made mistakes, but Raj taught me to speak in native accent. This film became easy for me due to a co-actor like Rajkumar Rao. It is pleasant to work with such a great actor.
‘Chalap’ is a humorous, but inspiring journey of a PT master of a semi government funded school in North India. Montu (Rajkumar Rao) is a typical PT master, for which it is only a job. When circumstances put all of Montu’s beloved things at stake, including his girlfriend Neelu (Nusrat Bharucha), he is forced to do what he has never done before – meaning to teach.
Stream the world premiere of Rajkummar Rao and Nusrat Bharucha’s ‘leap’ in India and 200 countries and territories from 13 November. Fans can enjoy the special fun of this film directed by Hansal Mehta on Amazon Prime Video in Diwali.
