TikTok Also Banned in Pakistan, China's Reactions

After India and America, now Pakistan has also blocked the Chinese app TikTok. Pakistan’s Telecommunication Authority (PTA) received complaints from different parts of the society of TikTok promoting immoral and pornographic content. After which Pakistan had also warned the Ticketock app. Despite this, when TikTok did not take any action, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has decided to ban the Chinese app. 

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority said that on the basis of complaints received from many sections of the society, the PTA has issued an order to block the video sharing app. According to Pakistan’s Geo News report, the authority says that the company has completely failed to follow the instructions to develop an effective mechanism for active moderation of illegal online content. So decided to block TikTok. 

According to the report, PM Imran Khan had asked the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to free the internet, social media and apps from pornography. After which the PTA had banned five dating apps which were accused of spreading nudity and homosexuality. 

According to Pakistani Information Minister Shibli Faraj, he is not worried about data security with this app, but is in danger of spoiling the culture, because of this app, pornography is spreading rapidly in the country. He told that Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has talked about this 15 times. After which this action has been taken. 

Let us tell you that in the last week of June, 59 apps from China including TikTok, Halo and Shareite were banned in view of security in India. After this, 47 more Chinese apps were banned in late July. In the third phase, apart from PUBG, mobile apps like Live, WeChat Work and WeChat Reading, Apple, Carrom Friends were banned in September.
